A Prayer For World Peace

Comments Off

All together as one nation united
Let us pray for peace undivided
Puting away selfisness and pride
Not trusting in man but in God confide

Don’t let the color of skin be our visual
But look to others as an equal individual
Let us call out to God as never before
Forgiving others and not keeping score

May the unity of nations be our goal
lest violence and terror will have it’s toll
Now’s the time for world peace to abound
before we hear that final trumpet sound

School Systems and Children

Comments Off

Father, we thank You that the entrance of Your Word brings light and that You watch over Your Word to perform it. Father, we bring before You the world’s school system(s) and the men and women who are in positions of authority within the school system(s).

We believe that skillful and godly wisdom has entered into their hearts, that Your knowledge is pleasant to them. Discretion watches over them; understanding keeps them and delivers them from the way of evil and from evil men. We pray that men and women of integrity, blameless and complete in Your sight, remain in these positions, but that the wicked be cut off and the treacherous be rooted out in the name of Jesus. Father, we thank You for born-again, Spirit-filled people in these positions.

Father, we bring our children, our young people, before You. We speak forth Your Word boldly and confidently, Father, that we and our households are saved in the name of Jesus. We are redeemed from the curse of the law, for Jesus was made a curse for us. Our sons and daughters are not given to another people. We enjoy our children, and they shall not go into captivity, in the name of Jesus.

As parents, we train our children in the way they should go, and when they are old they shall not depart from it.

Our children shrink from whatever might offend You, Father, and discredit the name of Christ. They show themselves to be blameless, guileless, innocent and uncontaminated children of God without blemish (faultless, unrebukable) in the midst of a crooked and wicked generation, holding out to it and offering to all the Word of Life. Thank You, Father, that You give them knowledge and skill in all learning and wisdom, and bring them into favor with those around them.

Father, we pray and intercede that these young people, their parents and the leaders in the school system(s) separate themselves from contact with contaminating and corrupting influences. They cleanse themselves from everything that would contaminate and defile their spirits, souls and bodies. We confess that they shun immorality and all sexual looseness — flee from impurity in thought, word or deed. They live and conduct themselves honorably and becomingly as in the open light of day. We confess and believe that they shun youthful lusts and flee from them in the name of Jesus.

Satan, we speak to you in the name of Jesus. We bind you, the principalities, the powers, the rulers of the darkness and wicked spirits in heavenly places and tear down strongholds, using the mighty weapons God has provided for us in the name of Jesus. We bind up that blinding spirit of antichrist. We bind every spirit of the occult — astrology, witchcraft, every familiar spirit. We bind sexual immorality, idolatry, obscenity and profanity. We bind those spirits of alcohol, nicotine and drug addiction. We bind worldly wisdom in any form — every opposer to the truth. We bind every destructive, deceitful, thieving spirit. You are loosed from your assignment against every school system  in the name of Jesus, for they escape from the snare of the devil who has held them captive.

We commission the ministering spirits to go forth and police the area, dispelling the forces of darkness.

Father, we thank You that in Christ all the treasures of divine wisdom (of comprehensive insight into the ways and purposes of God) and all the riches of spiritual knowledge and enlightenment are stored up and lie hidden for us, and we walk in Him.

We praise You, Father, that we shall see administrators, students and teachers  walking in the ways of piety and virtue, revering Your name, Father. Those who err in spirit will come to understanding, and those who murmur discontentedly will accept instruction in the Way, Jesus, to Your will and carry out Your purposes in their lives; for You, Father, occupy first place in their hearts. We surround our schools, teachers, students and administrators with our faith.

Thank you, Father, that You are the delivering God. Thank You that the good news of the Gospel is published throughout our school system(s). Thank You for intercessors to stand on Your Word and for laborers of the harvest to preach Your Word in Jesus’ name. Praise the Lord! Amen.

As the deer pants for water, so I long for you, O God. I thirst for you, the living God. In the name of Jesus, I resist discouragement because I expect you to act! For I know that I shall again have plenty of reason to praise you for all that you will do. You are my help! You are my God! I place my trust in you, and I shall again praise you for your wondrous help; you make me smile again, for you are my God. Amen and Amen.

LORD, your Word says that we are to be holy to you, because you are holy, and you have set us apart to be yours. LORD, thank you for choosing us as your treasured possession. You live in us, and walk among us. You are our GOD and we are your people – the sheep of your pasture. We are running over with thanksgiving because you are our Father, and we are your sons and daughters. We will keep our way pure by reading and living according to your Word in the name of Jesus. For Wisdom in Daily Financial Decisions*

Comments Off

Father, I know that it is Your will that I prosper financially even as my soul prospers. In the name of Jesus, I bind my mind to the mind of Christ, my financial decisions to the will of God, and my emotions to the control of the Holy Spirit. I resist the temptation to be slothful in business, and I purpose to be prompt about fulfilling my responsibilities with fervency of spirit, serving You. I pray that my integrity and uprightness will protect me, because my hope is in You.

It is my desire to go out into the world uncorrupted, a breath of fresh air in this squalid and polluted society, and to provide people with a glimpse of good living and of the living God. That’s why I pay my taxes, my bills, and respect my leaders. I resist the temptation to run up debts; except for the huge debt of love I owe others.

It is my ambition to lead a quiet life, to mind my own business, and to work with my own hands. I will study to show myself approved in finances and will attend diligently to my financial responsibilities. Jesus is made unto me wisdom, and I thank You, Father, for getting godly information—books, tapes, teaching seminars—to me so that I can make wise financial decisions. The slothful person craves and gets nothing, but the desires of the diligent are fully satisfied. In the name of Jesus I will be a living witness and a good steward of all that You have given me. Amen.

* To acquire wisdom in daily financial decisions, I recommend reading the book of Proverbs. There are many Bible-based books to help you learn God’s principles of tithing, giving, saving, and budgeting.

100 Points To Get Into Heaven

Comments Off

A man dies and goes to heaven. St. Peter meets him at the pearly gates.

St. Peter says, “Here’s how it works. You need 100 points to make it into heaven. You tell me all the good things you’ve done, and I give you a certain number of points for each item, depending on how good it was. When you reach 100 points, you get in.”

“Okay” the man says, “I attended church every Sunday”

“That’s good, says St. Peter, ” that’s worth two points”

“Two points?” he says. “Well, I gave 10% of all my earnings to the church”

“Well, let’s see,” answers Peter, “that’s worth another 2 points. Did you do anything else?”

“Two points? Golly. How about this: I started a soup kitchen in my city and worked in a shelter for homeless veterans.”

“Fantastic, that’s certainly worth a point, ” he says.

“hmmm…,” the man says, “I was married to the same woman for 50 years and never cheated on her, even in my heart.”

“That’s wonderful,” says St. Peter, “that’s worth three points!”

“THREE POINTS!!” the man cries, “At this rate the only way I get into heaven is by the grace of God!”

“Come on in!”

My Father in Heaven I bless your holy name. I worship You; I honor and cherish every moment spent with you. Father I ask that You remove anything inside of me that is not of You And replace it with your Holy Spirit. Father I thank You for such a precious gift. I thank You Lord for being my light and my shield. I thank You Lord for giving me grace and glory. It is written, that You will withhold no good thing from those who do what is right. I shout hallelujah! Sin has no hold on me; I am no longer burdened with the yoke of the law. Instead, I am set free by Your grace. I know that the person I am today is all because of You Father. I know that You poured out special favor on me. I am Your vessel; let Your light shine through me. You are a mighty God, You are a powerful God and You are a loving God. I will sing your praises all the days of my life.

Amen, Amen & Amen!

My Favorite Bible Verse

Comments Off

My favorite Bible verses are, “But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!)” (New Living Translation, Ephesians 4.4, 5). Growing up I attended church regularly; I sang in the choir and attended bible school every Sunday. As I grew older, like most teens, I thought I did not need God. I lived my life without a care, and all the time God was with me. When I was bar hopping, God was with me. When I found myself in compromising situations, God was with me. Even when I turned away from God, he was there with me. I was so busy having fun; I did not realize I was putting my life and soul in danger. Simply put, I was burning the candle at both ends. In 1994, I became seriously ill. I was diagnosed with Guillain–Barré syndrome (GBS) and Lupus. As defined at Web MD, “Guillain-Barré syndrome (say “ghee-YAN bah-RAY”) attacks your nervous system. It causes muscle weakness, loss of reflexes, and numbness or tingling in your arms, legs, face, and other parts of your body” (WebMD). GBS is rare; it can cause paralysis and even death, most people make a full recovery. The paralysis started in my feet and slowly moved up my body; leaving me paralyzed from the neck down. I was hospitalized from June of 1994, until April of 1995. My doctors were amazed that I survived. During this time, I slowly regained the use of my limbs. However, the strength in my legs did not return. I am currently confined to a wheelchair.

God saved me, and Ephesians 4:4-5, tells me why. Even when I turned away from Him, he still loved me. I have rededicated my life to Christ, and I have found peace. I have started my own business, and returned to school. My Lupus has been in remission since 2002. For many years after my hospitalization, I took ten prescribed medications; currently I take four. Whenever things get tough, or I lose focus, I meditate on this verse. I am not perfect and I still make mistakes, but I know that God is with me. God has given me the gift of life, and I will forever sing His praises.
